A little bit about me
Who am I?? What can I offer??
My name is Connie Væver and I have been sewing since I was 6 years old. At that time I got my grand ma’s hand drawn sewing machines. This started a lifelong passion for a subject in constant movement: the textile business.
When I started as a child there were no Mobil phone and IPad. This means when staying at home or been looked after by my grandma, I was learned to sew and do different craft, such as knitting, crochet and embroidery. The world does not look like this today – the tradition does no longer exist in the same way. You will search at YouTube to see have things are done.
Based upon the start at grandma I chose textile business to be my way and I have worked as a Designer for many years. I have beside my years as a designe, been teaching sewing in evening school and right nowmy job is teaching at a Design School in Denmark. I would like to give my students and others a professional approach to sewing. Beside there is a need for a place where professional methods are gathered. My hope is to create a digital lexicon. It must to be seen as an ongoing process of developing the lexicon, by constant adding new things.
Right now most of what you will find at the page is basic. But the more difficult things will come; such as lining, men’s lapel and much, much more. I got a lot of ideas – let’s see where it will bring me.
It is my hope you will get good use of my videos and the result of your sewing will be as you wish. Remember practice makes perfect – it might look easy, but I can tell you some of my first sewing styles do not withstand the light of day.
Good luck
Connie Væver
